How to easily remove rust from excavator locks?

Hitch locks rust and cannot be screwed down from time to time, how to quickly and effectively remove rust? In addition to rust remover, there are other methods. We sorted it out, hoping to help you.

1. Vibrate

Vibration is a commonly used method, tapping the trailer hitch lock, let the king pin lock loose, and then screw. This makes sense, because when you tap, the pin tumbler lock vibrates between the product and the material, creating a gap, and then comes loose. However, this method also has a certain defect, that is, if it is a cross ball hitch lock, it is easy to let it damage, easier to increase the difficulty of unscrewing. Therefore, this method is more suitable for hexagon locks and so on.

2. Rinse

Rinse with tap water. Generally, the tap water will contain certain acid, and the acid in the tap water will react with the rust, so that there will be a certain gap between the trailer ball hitch lock and the object. Rust remover is generally more expensive, and only when removing the rust in time, the effect is better, which is more troublesome. It is better to directly use tap water, which is cheap, and rust removal effect is also good.

3. Burn

This method is believed to have been used by many machine owners, but it is more dangerous to use the burning method on excavators. If items are taken apart and burned, it is OK. If they are burned directly on excavators, especially near the engine parts, it is a high risk, so use it with caution. In addition, if there is plastic nearby, this method is not feasible. After burning for some time, pour some water on the gate pin lock, remember to pour water on the hitch bolt lock, not all of it, then you can reduce the difficulty of unscrewing. This is based on the principle of thermal expansion and cold contraction.

4. Impact

There are certainly many excavator owners who use this method, and the impact also has the factor of vibration. However, this kind of impact method also has the factor of using the principle of inertia. Vibration and inertia, the two factors together on the rusty tow hitch lock, the effect will not be worse. But this kind of method has certain harm to the angle of the lock. Basically, the lock can't be used when it is removed.

5. Electric weld

Excavator owners can weld an iron bar or lock on the lock, this can increase the torque, then the lock can be easily screwed down. However, in this case the locks are large and there is no flammable material around.

6. Drill holes

Use an iron drill to drill a hole in the middle of a bolt pin lock, and then the lock will loosen quickly and easily. But this method requires precision, and will directly damage the lock, which is not a very good way.

7. Lubricate

Lubricating with diesel oil is a good idea, but diesel oil tends to form a film between the lock and the material. If the time is a little longer, this method is a good choice.

Note: It is recommended to use diesel or gasoline when lubricating with oil.
