Excavator hydraulic tilt bucket is not universal. However, sometimes the parts of the machine often cross, so the bucket installed on one machine will also work on other machines. If we are not sure which grab bucket you need to install on the machine, we usually ask you to confirm some dimensions of the old or existing bucket. Here we will tell you what is the excavator bucket and how we need to measure to make sure you receive the correct bucket.
What is the excavator bucket
Tilting mud bucket is a kind of structural products, which is composed of tooth base plate, bottom plate, side plate, wall plate, lug plate, back plate, bucket ear plate, bucket ear sleeve, bucket tooth, tooth base, guard plate or bucket angle and other spare parts. Therefore, welding can be the most critical manufacturing process of excavator ripper bucket, and the welding quality directly affects the structural strength and service life of bucket. Excavator bucket is divided into bucket backhoe and front shovel bucket according to working mode, and backhoe bucket is commonly used. The front shovel of the excavator is hinged at the end of the stick and driven by the oil cylinder. During the operation, the excavation force is from the bottom to the top, and the excavation track is usually in an arc, which is suitable for the excavation of sand, gravel, coal mine and other operations above the parking surface. The backhoe of excavator is hinged with the connecting rod of the stick and driven by the oil cylinder. During the operation, the excavation force is from up to down, and the excavation track is in a circular arc. It is suitable for excavation of soil, sand, coal mine and other construction operations below the parking surface.
How to measure the size of excavator bucket?
1. Pin diameter
Measuring the diameter of the tractor hitch pins is simple. First, take out an old pin from the barrel and measure the width of the tractor pin with a set of vernier calipers. If you don't have a vernier caliper, you can also choose a tape or ruler. It is also OK to measure the inner diameter of the boss on the hanger.
2. Bucket gap
Bucket gap is the internal measurement between the bucket hangers or sometimes called bucket ears. This is the main arm of the excavator installation part, but also the bucket link. You need to use a tape or ruler to measure the minimum internal dimension between the bumps of the barrel. You can also measure the outside width of the bucket links, but these links are often worn, so the measurement is not accurate.
3. Tractor drawbar pin centers
The quick hitch pin center is basically the distance between the two tractor linkage pin centers. You can still choose to use a ruler or tape measure to measure. The specific measurement position is from the leading edge of one pin to the leading edge of the second pin.
