What are the differences between natural rubber and synthetic rubber?

Latex is any water-based liquid or viscous state of a polymer. Natural latex is the white sap extracted from the rubber tree. Natural latex is dried (vulcanized) and then synthesized with processing aids to obtain a natural rubber that can be easily transported and packaged for storage. Synthetic rubber is man-made and its physicochemical properties can be adapted to specific needs. Both natural rubber and synthetic rubber can be made into tracks, used together with other undercarriage parts of bucket chain excavators, such as excavator track chains. Then what are the differences between them?

The advantages and disadvantages of natural rubber

Natural rubber has some significant advantages. 1. Natural rubber has high tensile strength, holds its shape, and is more flexible. 2.It is easier to produce natural rubber in industry. 3. Natural rubber is resistant to tears and chips. Because natural rubber has superior strength and tear resistance, natural rubber tracks used as excavator track parts can last longer and improve cost effectiveness. This is the most important factor when purchasing rubber tracks of track roller excavators.

The main disadvantages of natural rubber are as follows. 1. Natural rubber is relatively more expensive. 2. Natural rubber does not perform very well on wet traction surfaces. This is not ideal for excavators that need to work in wet and muddy workplaces.3. Natural rubber is not very good at reducing rolling resistance.4. At higher temperatures, natural rubber can bend and mold.

The advantages and disadvantages of synthetic rubber

Synthetic rubber also has many advantages. 1. Synthetic rubber has cost advantages and is less expensive. 2. Synthetic rubber is more adaptable to different temperatures. A common synthetic rubber used in the production of tires and track undercarriage is styrene-butadiene rubber. It can withstand temperatures from -40 to 100 degrees Celsius. 3. Excavator undercarriage parts suppliers can customize the properties of synthetic rubber to meet specific performance needs.

Of course, synthetic rubber also has disadvantages. 1. Synthetic rubber is a derivative of crude oil, so it is not easily decomposed and is more polluting to the environment. 2. The mechanical properties of synthetic rubber such as stretching effect are not as good as natural rubber.

Conclusion

Both natural rubber and synthetic rubber play an important role in the production of excavator undercarriage parts. As is shown in the previous article, both of the two kinds of rubber have their own benefits and shortcomings, complementing each other. When selecting rubber track undercarriages, to get better mechanical properties of the track, we recommend purchasing tracks with some degree of natural rubber content, as natural rubber has superior flexibility and wear resistance. The practicality of synthetic rubber means that it can compensate for the disadvantages of natural rubber by altering the chemical properties of any batch, but tracks made entirely of synthetic rubber will have reduced performance. For this reason, natural rubber is very important in the production of high-quality rubber tracks. Remember this and make an analysis about the dozer tracks suppliers, you can choose the right tracks.
